Lorica Technologies was initially founded by Christopher Dye in 2021 to design the next generation of FPV drone technology. In 2024 the firm was rapidly expanded with a new team to develop advanced solutions for defense, commerce, and public safety. 

The word Lorica has had meaning in a number of languages throughout history, often referring to a prayer for protection, but an especially relevant meaning was name of breast plate armor a roman centurion wore into battle. Legionnaires trusted this thin line of metal with their lives. We strive to bring that thin lifesaving line into the modern era, as a first, and last, layer of defense.
